The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, visited the Argentine Republic from April 13th to 15th, 2026.

During his visit, President Javier Milei received his Czech counterpart at the Casa Rosada, where they held a meeting in the presidential office. This was the second meeting between both Presidents, after President Milei visited Prague in June 2024 within the framework of the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Argentina and the Czech Republic.

The Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic, Pablo Quirno, and President Pavel participated in a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of General San Martín, as well as in the closing ceremony of the business forum, in which Argentine and Czech businesspeople who share an interest in deepening bilateral commercial exchange and advancing investment projects in Argentina took part.

Also during the visit, a Convention between Argentina and the Czech Republic to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion was signed. This Convention eliminates the double tax burden, provides predictability to investors, and sets clear rules regarding income, dividends, interest, and royalties.

Furthermore, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, and Argentine parliamentarians held a meeting with the Czech President.

Additionally, the Chief of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, received President Pavel, who was also declared an illustrious visitor by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

Furthermore, within the framework of the Argentine presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), President Pavel visited the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires.

Finally, it is worth noting that this was the third visit of a President of the Czech Republic to Argentina, after Presidents Václav Havel and Václav Klaus visited the country in 1996 and 2011 respectively.
