Watch “Viva Česko” on YouTube

We are pleased to inform you that the short film "Viva Česko", directed by Argentine filmmaker Juan Wenceslao Hayzus (@wenchihayzus), is now available for free on the YouTube platform.

This film portrays the life of the Czech community gathered at the Český dům association in Lanús, Buenos Aires, and sensitively tells the love story of two teenagers who are members of a folk dance group. Created in collaboration with the community members themselves, the film authentically captures characteristic elements of Czech culture that have been transplanted into the Argentine context, including the traditional witch burning.

"Viva Česko" won the Audience Award at the 7th General Pico Festival in La Pampa. Additionally, the short film has been screened in Colombia, Brazil, and the Czech Republic.

We recommend this short film to anyone who feels a connection to Czech culture and is interested in its international expressions.

The film is presented in its original version with English subtitles.
